Welcome
We extend a warm welcome to Nottingham to all international visitors to our city. If you are a Christian then we look forward to welcoming you into our church family and to supporting and encouraging you during your time in Nottingham. If you are interested in meeting new friends, exploring the Christian faith or simply curious then you will find a warm welcome in our friendly family church. We are close to the west gate of the University almost in the middle of the Broadgate flats complex and are looking forward to meeting you. Please visit our location page for precise details of how to find us.

Globe Café

The Globe Café is for international students. It runs every Monday night during term time from 8pm to 10pm. Each evening includes free tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes, and provides a good opportunity to chat and get to know new people. We also provide board games, table football and table tennis for you to play, and host some special events.
As well as being a great place to use as an escape from the library and work, the café also offers an ideal opportunity to practice your English if you need to! Each week there will be a short thought or interview explaining something about what Christians believe.

The Globe Café is organised by a group of Christians, who are a mixture of students and non-students but of course you don't have to be a Christian to come along. If you would like to join a Bible study group or visit a church to find out what Christians believe then please ask one of the team members.
You also don't have to pay to come along to the café. We look forward to seeing you at the Globe Café, and hope you find it enjoyable and entertaining! The café is run in association with Cornerstone Church and the Nottingham University Christian Union.

Please contact Matt Doig for further information; the Globe Café Programme can be found here.

Cameo - Come and meet each other

A regular event for the wives of international students or staff.
We aim to provide a friendly place:

...where you can meet others
...where you can ask any questions about living in Britain and practice English
...where we can enjoy activities and learn from each other

The meetings are organised by a group of Christian women from local churches. We welcome women from any faith and culture - and their children!
Toys and books are available for children to play with. There are also free refreshments.
We meet on the following Thursdays from 1pm to 2.30pm at Beeston Free Church.

International Student Hospitality Scheme
The international student hospitality scheme in Nottingham extends a warm welcome to international students/scholars and families, who study or do research in Nottingham.
We understand that coming to a new town or country can be a lonely and confusing experience. Through the hospitality scheme, you will be given the opportunity to meet a local person or family, be invited into their home for a meal and find out more about the local culture. In the past, some students have made lasting friendships with their hosts and have made several return visits for meals. If you would like more information or would like to be invited into a local home, please contact the coordinator of the hospitality scheme Jane Taylor.

Would you like to study the bible??
During term time we run Bible discussion groups for international students who want to find out more about Christianity. We meet on Mondays before Globe Café, from 19.00-20.00, here at the church. You don't need to know anything about the Bible or have excellent English. For more information about these courses please contact Jonathan Skipper.
